Adjustable Clubhead Approval?
The news on the 'net is that the U.S. Golf Association of St. Andrews is going to allow a broader acceptance of clubhead adjustability in its rules. Since putters have already been given the nod for variances, this new ruling will only affect woods and irons---although specifically what will soon be allowed has not been determined. Club adjustment during the course of a round will still not be allowed, as stated in current guidelines. Now, it's up to club manufacturers to submit samples and ideas to the USGA for potential approval. The goal behind allowing adjustable systems is for the benefit of the average golfer, while addressing the varied needs of all golfers. While the decision may not affect casual Myrtle Beach golf package players, it's good to know if you're planning on going pro.
