Community-Owned Golf Course?

The residents of Carolina Shores, North Carolina, have asked their Property Owners Association to look into the possibility of buying the Carolina Shores Golf & Country Club. The covenants that keep the property a golf course expires the end of 2008, causing citizens in the area to panic at the thought that the area will eventually be further developed into more residential housing. Of the votes received at present, the majority were in favor of making the future purchase in effort to keep their golf course community intact; however, a special POA committee is being developed to ensure the concept is legal.
