Golf Channel Contest Winner Plays in Myrtle Beach

If you played the Grande Dunes while you were on your latest Myrtle Beach golf vacation this past Monday, you may have unexpectedly been a part of one guy's lucky day. Mr. Norm Bayens, plus his wife and two sons, made their way from Aurora, Colorado, to Myrtle Beach via a contest he won through the Golf Channel. Joining them in a round a golf was LPGA star and model, Natalie Gulbis. In an interview, Bayens stated that he'd always wanted to come to play Myrtle Beach golf because of all the great comments made about the area by his friends. However, because South Carolina is so far away from home, the Bayens family had been unable to visit until the Golf Channel picked up the tab for an all-expenses paid excursion. Gulbis has her own reality television show (about her everyday life) that airs on Golf Channel. At this time, however, no contract has been signed to continue the show through the 2008 season.
