Number One Hospital System in Horry Area
Consumer Reports recently released its study of central-line infection data for intensive-care units at 926 hospitals in 43 states including South Carolina. Of 31 hospitals with ICU's in our area, the Loris Healthcare System was among the top 105 that tallied zero (0) infections. The report states that approximately 1.7 million infections occur each year in US hospitals. Central line infections are almost completely preventable with low-tech procedures such as hand hygiene.
