Our Own Calvin Gilmore in a Movie
Calvin Gilmore, founder of The Carolina Opry, is an actor in the new soon-to-be-released movie called Get Low, based on the life of an actual recluse. The release date is projected as December 2, 2009, and the film features Robert Duval, Bill Murray, Sissy Spacek, and Lucas Black in a story about a small-town eccentric who plans and stages his own funeral while he is alive. Look for Calvin Gilmore in the barber shop.
