Presidential Campaigns
As most people may know by now, Myrtle Beach is set to host two primary presidential campaigns in January. The Republican Party will hold its event on January 10 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, while the Congressional Black Caucus Institute Democratic debate, recently moved to January 21, will be at The Palace Theater. Now, the main topic comes down to ticket distribution. While the Republican GOP has had ticket information and sales posted on its Web site since the debate schedule was announced, the CBC had held off any news regarding access to its big event. As reported today, the CBC has plans to distribute many of the tickets for free to the area community. Looking at the event as a positive educational experience, the Institute has expressed to the media that it intends for its debate to be "inclusive, not exclusive." While the method of giving away the tickets has yet to be released, the group intends for students, area political party members and local residents to be the main recipients. Meanwhile, GOP tickets are going for about $150 per person, but, it, too, hopes to be able to spread some gratis tickets to local area volunteers who help with the activities. The Grande Shores is located just a few miles away from both events, so if you're looking to come down for either event, please call soon to book your Myrtle Beach hotel or condo.
