Rain Interferes With World Record Sand Castle Attempt

The much needed rain that arrived in Myrtle Beach SC Saturday June 2 may have ended attempts at building a world record sand castle on the oceanfront. The attempt was held as a part of the annual Sun Fun Festival in downtown Myrtle Beach. As of Sunday morning, it was unclear how much damaged the structure received, although it appeared the top of the castle was most affected. The Sun Fun Festival is an annual event in Myrtle Beach and is comprised of outdoor events and concerts. The event concludes Sunday June 4, but concerts will run throughout the summer. A summer concert is a great way to spend the evening after a day at The Grande Shores Ocean Resort.
