The Plastic Continent
Trash, 3.5 million tons of it (80% plastic), lurks in our oceans, world wide, accumulating daily, now collectively larger than the size of Texas. No one country put it there, and no one country wants the job of cleaning it up. Meanwhile, plastic bags kill sea turtles, and bottle caps fill the stomachs of seabirds and dolphins. Let's each do our part to limit the trash going to sea. Let's consume less and recycle more.
