Pawleys Island Golf Course to close for summer
Grande Shores Hotel and oceanfront resort in Myrtle Beach SC has found a labor pool to draw from on the other side of the Atlantic ocean. This Myrtle Beach family vacation destination employees eastern European exchange students for seasonal summertime positions in housekeeping, food and beverage, front desk services and other Oceanfront hotel departments.
The Heritage Club, located in Pawleys Island SC, will close this summer to resurface its putting greens. The popular Myrtle Beach golf package favorite is opting for the ultra dwarf Champions bermuda, which has been used in many Myrtle Beach golf courses over the past few years. The surface grows with a smaller grass blade allowing for a closer cut and a truer roll. The surface performs like traditional bent grass but is much more tolerant of heat and humidity. The golf course expects to reopen in late August provided the greens grow in without any problems.
