Grande Shores News & Happenings

Upgrades and Maintenance

Our 7th floor pool and lazy river have been recoated with a fresh new surface for the upcoming season…and all of our water amenities will be heated from now through the season. (Don't forget your bathing suit!)

All 90 balconies in the hotel, along with many areas of the building, have a fresh, new coat of paint.

Our oceanfront lawn has had fresh new sod installed- the perfect place for throwing down a towel and having a little picnic.

Easter Events

The Bunny hip-hopped to the Grande Shores Easter Sunday, and left his mark on a number of guests who stayed over the holiday weekend! In celebration of the holiday, we held a coloring contest and "Guess the Jelly Beans in the Jar" game. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Check out our winners with Mr. Easter Bunny:

(L to R: 8 to 12 age group winner Natalie Dymkowski; 3 to 7 winner Morgan Rucker;
Jelly Bean Guess winner Megan McCrary)

(Some of the entries into the coloring contests…proudly displayed in the lobby)

Coming Soon!

Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson Spring Bike Rally

Warm up your engines because Myrtle Beach Bike week rolls around May 9-18, 2008! Bikers, friends, vendors and media from all over the U.S. will converge on the Grand Strand for a week of cruising, dining and fun. And, while it seems that the nice folks riding the bikes are having a blast, we assure you that everyone else enjoys seeing the parade of bikes pass by, too.

The staff at Grande Shores truly enjoys our biker friends who stay with us year after year. To help accommodate some of their unique needs, we've made some special arrangements. Click here to visit our Bike page full of helpful Grande Shores information to consider if you're traveling with your motorcycle during that time.

Employee Spotlight

Ana Milena Aristizabal, Engineering Coordinator

There are so many great qualities about Ana, we could never truly cover them adequately here; and if you knew her, we know you'd feel the same! A bright light here at Grande Shores, Ana has that special 'it' factor that just makes everyone want to be in her presence. A native of Columbia (the country, not the SC capitol!), Ana skillfully executes a pivotal position in the Engineering Department. Aside from the mind-boggling task of scheduling all of her department's employees, Ana also prioritizes and delegates the constantly busy workload that comes with keeping an oceanfront property in ship-shape.

Our very favorite thing Ana does is when we have an employee birthday, Ana dances around in a tiny circle with her fingers shaking in the air whenever we sing "Happy Birthday." Those sweet antics never cease to bring a laugh and smile out of her coworkers.

The three words coworkers use to describe Ana: Spirited, Smiling and Sincere!

Thanks!

To the following groups who stayed with us in March! We hope you had a great time and will come back to see us again this summer.

The staff, both maintenance and office staff, were great. Everyone responded immediately towards an emergency in our room. The EMTs, front desk and head engineer and staff were tremendous in dealing with a serious situation. My wife and I can not thank you enough. A February Guest Comment

The suite was awesome, and the cleaning staff did an excellent job on a daily basis. A February Guest Comment

Neena in the bar was a great asset to our social events. She was friendly and entertaining. She made us want to come back. Also, one of your regular guests was a big attraction with his Karaoke machine. A February Guest Comment
